CAMP IS FULL Once again, the Junior Fife and Drum Camp has filled up quickly!! We will continue to take registrations for our waiting list. Anyone who is placed on the waiting list will be notified if a space becomes available. Placement on the waiting list will be based on the order in which the registration was received. AUDITION VIDEOS NEEDED Audition videos may accompany your regisration or sent any time BEFORE May 31, 208. All campers are encouraged to do an audio/video. However, this does not mean that if we do not get a video you will not be able to come to camp. It will help us to place you in a compatible music group so you get the most out of camp! If you do not send an audio/video you will automatically be placed in the group with the least amount of experience. Audition requirements can be downloaded here. Audition music is available here in the Library! |

Cap Corduan
|
|
This is Cap’s second year as director of the Camp and she has been with the Camp as an instructor since its inception. Cap started out in drum Corps when she was 9 years old and joined the Nutmeg Volunteers Junior Ancients from Groton, CT. When she aged out of Nutmeg she joined the Westbrook Seniors which allowed her time to play fife and drum as well as go to college. Cap received her BFA in Technical Theatre/ Design and headed west to the University of Illinois to pursue her Master’s Degree. While there she was a member of the March Illini. Upon completion of her Master’s degree she moved back to New England to teach design at the Walnut Hill School of Performing Arts in MA. Soon she found herself as a member of the Middlesex County Volunteers and was their assistant director for 5 years. Cap left MCV when she moved back to CT and then played with The Connecticut Valley Field Music for a number of years. During this time she had the privilege of “studying” with Denise and Bobby McGowan. ( It was more like hangout with really cool guys!) It was through these men that Cap learned the idea of “ancient easy” drumming. With that in mind she co-founded the Bluff Point Quahog Diggers Band where she is their ring leader. Cap also plays with The Grand Republic Fife and Drum Corps.
Cap is the Head of Technical Theatre at Fitchburg State College in Fitchburg, MA. This summer she will leave right after Camp on her sabbatical which will take her to Ireland, Switzerland, and Germany.

Sue Gozzo Andrews

Sue Gozzo Andrews serves as the Camp Administrative Assistant. For the last twenty years, Sue has been the baton twirler for St. Peter’s Drum Corps, where her husband is also a fifer; together they have performed in over 500 parades and in 7 foreign countries. Sue has been a baton twirling instructor for the past 35 years and teaches all phases of baton twirling (marching, 1/2/3 batons, flags, hoops, teams) to beginner students through advanced levels. Sue is an accredited National Baton Twirling Association Judge and an Amateur Athletic Union Twirling Judge and has judged at local, state, regional and national levels.
As her children’s interest in fifing and drumming grew, Philip (now 11/plays snare) and Simon (soon to be 9/plays bass), Sue decided to learn to play the fife at the ripe old age of 40. When her St. Peter’s schedule permits, she performs as a fifer with the Yalesville Senior Ancient Fife & Drum Corps. Sue’s children represent the fourth generation of drum corps in Sue’s family. Sue is employed as a Property/Casualty Actuary for Deloitte Consulting in Hartford, CT. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics with a Specialization in Actuarial Science from Central Connecticut State University.
